Buzz was "good enough" to make a Sweet 16, does not mean he was good in the areas of being a coach.

He got talent to VT, he was a recruiter who in one way or another got enough talent to Blacksburg to be competitive

That does not mean he was great or good or even average at other aspects of coaching

Thatd be like saying Dennis Rodman was "good enough" of a scorer to win 5 NBA titles ...he was a terrible scorer, but he played his role well to make the team work

Buzz played his role as a recruiter, and did a terrible job as an evaluator and roster manager. It worked out. It very easily couldve gone the opposite way had Blackshear gotten hurt.

Kevin Ollie was "good enough" to win an NCAA title...that does not mean Kevin Ollie is a good coach
