That's usually been the case, heard nothing about it changing.


Bad thing for the player I think it means he can't play anywhere else either (i.e. injury is effectily career ending). But I seem to remember a VT player several years ago that got a "waiver of the medical waiver), meaning that he received the medical exemption (kept his VT scholarship, but not counted against limit). But a year or two later petitioned the NCAA to allow him to go play for another school. He wasn't a big contributor at VT and transferred to a smaller school. Unfortunately I don't recall his name right now. Tall kid, maybe 6-10 or even 7'.
