“I think we’re going to continue rising because we set the foundation for what Virginia Tech Women’s Basketball is going to be for the next decade,” Cole said. “We laid out the foundation of a really tight-knit close family and the next generation that comes up has to step up and follow suit or you leave like the ones that did leave.”

Seems to be pointed at Mabrey and Baptiste. I appreciate everything Cole has done for us and love her game but you don't need to throw shade at your former teammates who was just as much a part of the success of the team last year. Might not be seen as that to some but that is how I am seeing it. If they decided to leave then that is their decision. I thought the team said they had great chemistry last year. So two players leave and all of a sudden they get thrown under the bus. I just think it should not have been said. If that is what she is thinking she should have kept that opinion to herself. During the season she seemed to have a great relationship with both of them.

With that said I do appreciate what she did but I also appreciate what Mabrey and Baptiste did as well. Cole played at three different programs. She should understand that sometimes it doesn't work out.
