Tech has 42 seniors participating in spring sports...
Baseball (4), Softball (1), Lacrosse (7), Women's Track & Field (12), Men's Track & Field (9), Women's Golf (2), Men's Golf (2), Women's Tennis (2), and Men's Tennis (3). That's a total of 42 seniors participating in 2020 spring Olympic sports. Some of the T&F athletes may have only participated in fall/winter events and are not counted in that 42 athlete total, so the total number may be less than 42. IMHO, softball and baseball will likely have no problem retaining their seniors since it's very likely that more players will decide to transfer this spring and summer (they usually do). Lacrosse may have a problem but John Sung has always had a lot of player (many not on scholarship). I'd be surprised if half of the seniors decide to return to the lacrosse program. Golf and Tennis may have a problem too but some of those athletes are international students and may just decide to go back home after graduation this May. It wouldn't surprise me to see almost all of the 9 seniors playing golf and tennis to not return. Track and Field has the biggest problem with 21 seniors. I'm not sure that all of those 21 players participated in spring events. Some ran cross country which is held in the fall and other only participated in fall/winter events. If the seniors are the only athletes given a 5th year (not including redshirting), the extra year shouldn't be a major concern. If Olivia Lattin decided to return for her 6th year, I'm sure 1 to 3 players will transfer in the upcoming months since that usually happens every year.
