For starters, she doesn't look like a killer. She looks like a chick who went to William and Mary, got older and fat, and would torture a man via the normal means of marrying him.

Her husband was definitely a drug mule of sorts. He owned a plane, got rich somehow with little details provided, has zero corporate pedigree, and did business in Costa Rica. C'mon. He was in the drug business. The drug business financed the tiger business. Their wealth is a house of cards built on illegal activities and she knows it.

He got whacked like everyone in organized crime does eventually and she knows all about it. She doesn't defend herself very well because she is afraid of being accused of being involved in the criminal activity by law enforcement or the justice department. Thus, she doesn't do a very good job defending herself.
