I believe DRs have measured scaring of the lungs.


They know more than I do on this topic, but I think that is plausible.

If you look back at 1918, the last pandemic, the economic outcomes from cities that went big early on social distancing was better than those that tried to push through. I'm not saying this pandemic is exactly the same as the spanish flu or that I know the best course of action, but there is a historical lesson to consider.

You can already see S Korea/Singapore that went hyper aggressive with social distancing and testing much more aggressively than the US is seeing less economic damage. It is a tough set of decisions facing authorities.
