Wrong. read the article


Title IX had "something" to do with it. From the article: "ODU needed to reduce men’s athletic scholarship money by $250,000 to comply with Title IX, which requires judicious opportunities for female athletes". No doubt ODU is in financial trouble, but by adding women's volleyball, they had to find another $250,000, so they got rid of their wrestling program. Clemson and Syracuse did the same thing to their wrestling programs.
