We're beginning to get a picture of the ESPN & Fox Camps

CBS is still a player albeit one not willing to afford SEC football. I think that opens up a major slot for some conference. The PAC 12 would be crazy not to pursue the CBS Saturday afternoon time slot. CBS has a SportsNet that they just signed up the Mountain West and American Athletic Conference to air on along with Army and Navy.

Regarding the Major Conferences, ESPN has locked down the SEC, the ACC, and looks to be locking down the Big XII. ESPN made a bid for the PAC12, but were turned down.

Fox has been pursuing the Big Ten. They haven't locked it down because they share Tier 1 with ESPN until 2023. I expect Fox to try to lock down the Big Ten in 2023. Fox has also locked down the Mountain West. With two Sports Networks and the main network, Fox has more time slots for another Conference. If they get the Big Ten in full, it will be interesting to see if they go after the PAC12 hard. It looks like they don't intend to go after the Big XII this time. Also remember CBS has Big Ten Basketball. Maybe CBS makes a play for Big Ten Football.

So where does this leave the ACC. Well, we've hitched our wagon to ESPN/Disney. If ESPN ends up with the ACC, the SEC, and the Big XII, that's 38 teams plus ND non-football. ESPN also has BYU football. How would ESPN maximize everyone's ability to make money including ESPN with those 38 plus ND-non-football and BYU football? Perhaps 2 leagues of 20? Given ACC and SEC have contracts until mid 2030s, they have a starting point.
