I've long said she's the best

Of course Michael Vick and those guys were amazing athletes and have far more notoriety but Tincher was actually USA Softball's Player of the Year in 2008. I know it's debatable but I'm biased as a softball dad! She's third I think all-time in strikeouts! It's incredible what she did with a team that wasn't comprised of any high-caliber talent (not meant as a slight to those players who are great in their own right, we just didn't have the highly recruited types back then) like the top teams today. She would have won a Nat'l Title with a team from today like UCLA, Washington, FSU, etc. What she accomplished in softball for multiple years hasn't been done in any other TEAM sport at VT. There are several multi-year National Champs in track and field, Queen Harrison, Spyridon Jullien, etc which is an amazing individual accomplishment, but I'm talking team sports. She made me follow softball before my kid really even got going in it. What's cool is we ended up living where my daughter ended up getting lessons from her and her dad! As you can see I'm a big fan.
