It is significantly more than a post would allow
Because there is nuance, and that just so happens to be the difference in Buzz and MY's philosophies
Buzz can draw on a board and say:
"Here is play X...this is how you run it"
And then you can go drill that play for 10 times per week and you get a very specific idea of where you should be when play X is called
MY draws on a board and says:
"Here is play X...this is the base package of this set but there are counters within the play to keep defenses honest. Over the course of the next few months we will teach you how to read the defense to know which action to take next. Then we can reconvene and go over the next branch of counters to discuss"
That takes a lot of time to understand, but even more time to master. BUT, if you do it right then the end product is a team full of players who understand how to read and react and it makes defending them an absolute nightmare. Scouting reports become infinitely harder. You can include actions your opponents have never seen.
You can take a team full of players who are (on paper) inferior to a team full of McDonalds All Americans and absolutely beat their brains in. VT isnt attracting McDs all americans, so this is the best route for VT as a program.
