I hear ya but you are getting off track


In fact you are making my point. When its economically more viable to go blue collar than white collar, then the system is broke. Don't get me wrong, I totally agree that trades are the way to go for so many young people and we need to prioritize that. Much better than spending 120K to get some lame degree that has no market appeal.
Anyway the point is we do also need college educated people. And when that costs so much that many regular folks can't afford it, then something is broke. Low income tend to get it opportunities for free education and wealthy can of course afford it. Most people are in the middle and caught in the conundrum.
Meanwhile there are millions and millions flowing to state sponsored schools from football. While tuition keeps rising to unaffordable levels, coaches make many more millions, staffs increase to absurd and unnecessary levels and 17 year old recruits get to be wowed by waterfalls in locker rooms.
This is all kinds of messed up. Coming from a huge college football fan
