I know that there are a couple of incoming players that have pointed out that mentality he has as being the reason why they chose to come to Virginia Tech along with Mabrey who literally said he was a huge reason as to why she came here because she had a similar relationship with her coach in high school. She wanted something on and off the court. He does genuinely care about them and not all coaches are like that. The thing that concerns me if he leaves or gets fired within the next year or two is the amount of players that could leave with him and transfer somewhere else. He is a great recruiter he just has to figure out the in game situations and that is where an experienced assistant could help. I still think his main problem is he needs at least one assistant that has that fire in situations when they need it and can step in, Brooks just doesn't have that personality type or temperament, that is why you need assistants to make up for what you lack. But that is just my opinion on the situation.
