I think turning down ESPN might be fatal mistake for Larry Scott


Disney would have gotten the PAC12 network distribution everywhere the SECN and ACCN are getting it. ESPN offered to take it over if they got the renewal of their Tier 1 plus the stuff Fox has that expires in 2024 through the 2030s. He would have gotten badly needed distribution, and aligning with Disney/ESPN would have given him cover personally.

As it is he's hanging out by himself on a limb that is about to be sawed. It's kind of too late to go back to Disney because they are almost through all of their renewals except Comcast.
