VT is going to have to find a way to eliminate turnovers. JMU wasn't any better in this category tonight, but this has been an ongoing them for VT women's lacrosse the past several years. Weather wasn't great, but the weather didn't cause a lot of the unforced turnovers. Poor passes and simply not catching passes at X. We dropped at least two easy passes at X because of lack of concentration. Compare our 24 turnovers to another game earlier this week -- Stony Brook vs Syracuse. Those two teams combined, yes combined, totaled 21 turnovers for their game. It's time to turn the focus on ball control and maximizing every offensive possession. Doesn't help if players can pass a run test, but can't hold on to the ball or make good decisions with passes. It's early in the year so there is time to right the ship, but I hope this one doesn't come back to haunt this team come NCAA time like the Duke game did last year.
