The biggest thing about 2020.....

We will learn a lot about direction of program and prognosis for Fu's continued tenure:

1. Manageable schedule. 10 wins and things are looking much better. 9 wins and things are appearing on track. 8 wins and its time to be concerned. 7 wins and it will be all or nothing for Fu in 2021. 6 wins or less and it will be time for Fu to polish his resume and hope there is an opening at directional Michigan or some school whose name stars with Middle, East, Western or has an A&M in it (other than Texas).

2. Make or break on recruiting. Keep DD and bring in 6-7+ 4 stars and finish in top 25 and 2020 becomes a distant memory. Keep/lose DD and finish in top 30, better but still work to be done. Lose DD and finish at 40 or worse, stick a fork in Fu.....He's done.

3. Penn State. Beat PSU at home and some monkey's will fall off of our back. Lose to PSU and it will just be more of the same inability to beat a good OOC team since OSU in 2014. Plus with PSU kicking our a$$ in VA recruiting, the win is more important that beating say Michigan or Florida etc.

4. Money. 2020 will be a watershed year for VT fund raising and Whit's leadership on that score. If we are presented with motivating but realistic vision of the future that actually gains substantial traction and support, then that bodes well for coming years. If not, well, we can settle in to being the "B team" of P5 major athletics for years to come.
