Rock solid seems an overstatement to me

They are still at the mercy of Texas' whims. As for possible expansion I'd be shocked if they could ever pull any school already in a P5 conference. The PAC has it's issues but it ain't never going anywhere . Arkansas might be tired of being a dog in the SEC but they ain't leaving the gravy train. Nebraska, come on, no way ever.
Any way you cut it the big 12 is the most vulnerable P5 conference. Maybe you can make an argument not as at risk today as 3 or 4 years ago, but far from a sure bet of surviving long term.
