My main concern with refs is consistency, and what I call rotational mechanics. Are the fouls consistent at both ends and in both halves? Are the right refs making the calls? Refs like Heater and his buddies make calls from the baseline on plays at the top, and make calls from the top of the key underneath.
TV Teddy is notorious for this, and makes such calls at crucial times (so he can get TV time). Heater just does it ad infinitum.
