I gave up all meat products on January 1st as well with booze for the month
and first off both were much easier than anticipated but I work out 5 days a week and the recovery was much longer on a plant based protein diet compared to when I was eating chicken and fish.
I had the Beyond meat products several times and liked them in general. I really wasn't looking though to substitute meat with fake meat. Lots of black beans, quinoa, brown rice, leafy greens, garbanzo beans and almonds this month
Lost 10lbs so far, but a on my long rides (two days per week) 25-30 miles and 3000-4000 feet of climbing I noticed I didn't have as much strength as I had in the previous month and muscle fatigue would set in much sooner
I am going back to chicken/fish 3 days per week and will stay the course the other 4 days. Booze thats a different story I'm back on that wagon tomorrow. [Post edited by wc hokie at 01/31/2020 1:18PM]
