There were things he likely talked about during timeouts and huddles that Cone and others were NOT doing and were yelling. Not just real-time coaching but also "C'mon we just talked about that!!!"

Speaking of late coaching:

If we are down in a time game, there are two things I don't agree with:

1. NO one on the free throw line when you know the person shooting at the FT line is not good. This I believe hurt us against Syracuse. it was fine earlier in the year when we were protecting leads and we didn't want freshmen to get burned but we NEED potential rebounds.

2. No offensive rebounding. We got one from Nolley who hit Cone for a 3. But we missed so many shots and no one was moving to try for rebounds when we were down.

I know there is a trend for people to not get offensive rebounds, though I see other teams do. And someone may say it is to not give up transition baskets but if you watch people, they are not sprinting or running or jogging back...or at least some people in position to go for a rebound. It isn't just to prevent fast breaks. There are people in the corners not too far from the rebound, at the elbows or even the short corners that don't try. They just start moving away. Again, when you are down and you need that missed bucket

If we had lost that game, it would have been because of cold shooting but not giving ourselves second chances.
