On the 1980's Campaign we were given lists of grads that were in our zip code, our dorm neighbors and fellow majors.. All we did was circle their name if we thought they maybe a candidate for substantial support. They knew what they were doing, for sure.

OTOH, taking them to an event doesn't seem too intrusive. Many local attorneys help raise money.
