It's more important to make a good long term hire than it is to simply promote someone now for the sake of going down the hall. Promoting Hamilton (who was a stretch as a DC) to HC would be an abysmal move that would quickly erode support for the program and would be seen largely as a white flag.

Check up on some plan A guys and/or high ceiling young guys. If we can't get what we want, let's do a one year deal with Foster/Beamer and get a head start on 2021.
