Given that it may be late in the game to hire a new HC and Babcock may find that the names at the top of his list aren't interested in the job for one reason or another, I could see Babcock desperately decide to promote JHam instead of opting to go with Beamer 2.0 or a less than stellar candidate from outside the Hokie Family.
