Actually I think the scary is the debt payments from these facilities


will schools be able to sustain the debt payments on these huge sports facilities. also these universities are also relying more and more on this borrowing capacity to fund their normal capital needs and with states funding less and less higher education needs, this could be big deal. Same for private schools with six figure scholarship charges for every athlete.

I can see the day, when schools make the choice to down scale the programs or cancel.... based on finances...

Students are different now, even in high school they don't go to high school athletic events as much. With so much on their plate, they just won't sit down for 4 hours without any constant activity to spur their interest.... also, if getting to a game is hassle, excess security and searching, and increased police oversight, the answer is easy. WE WONT GO... Instead head to a football party off campus and watch the game on TV
