'they' I don't think so, some vocal minority

Morre I see, VT fan based is split. The 'fans from the metropolitan areas NORTHERN VA, Richmond and Hamption Roads as much as Charlotte and Maryland. totally Reltate to ACC members. Their peers and associates and business relatiionships all relate to acc graduates.

The fans in SW VA frankly, most acc schools are far away, they have more relaltionships with WVU, Tenn and KY. and just random associations with institutions and alumni from Duke UNC much less BC>

For the growth in the expanding alumni base in Hampton Roads the ODU schedule is VERY VERY smart. But not smart for some alumni from gate city who want to go to the game.

Frankly the football decline is more related to changing demographics, and life style. Most alumni llive in metropolitan areas and time demands are heavy. from kids soccer tourneys to weekend chores since you are commuting leaving 630 and coming back at 7 not much time left. And college football fist is frankly takes 2 days out of the pocket. Also, the price has gotten so high, its tough and many folks pocketbook. its much easier to watch it on tv. Also, with the concern about injuries more and more families don't want their kids to play football and they are playing soccer and other sports. so there is no interest to go to a game.

thank goodness VT did not overreach on football seating capacity. Lane is just about right.
