Larry Scott and the PAC12.

continue to circle the drain and the longer this drags on the lower the price goes. Scott overplayed his hand, sold the PAC12 administrators a fantasy and then allowed his pride to reject the lifeline ESPN threw him. He ignores the geographic challenges his west coast conference faces in terms of east coast TV markets and the continued decline of the PAC12 product as a whole. There was a time when PAC12 schools had their pick of west coast skill kids while now programs from across the country are routinely taking what they want. If ESPN calls again the price will be lower than the last time and at some point the phone will quit ringing all together. The PAC12 is paying Larry Scott a significant sum of money for little to no leadership and overall the conference is decidedly weaker now than the day he took over. Mike Tranghese at least had the excuse of competing factions when he rode the Big East in to the ground, Scott does not have a similar excuse even though he appears on the path to doing the same thing to the PAC12. You would think with all the intellectual and business talent at places like Stanford, Oregon and the California schools they would be much better at spotting a con man but, sadly they are not.
