When I hear Tessitore's voice, my brain thinks "Wed. night MAC game"
I don't have any personal objections to Tessitore, but I heard him call so many lousy college games over the years that I simply can't separate his voice from small time football. I can't listen to him call a MNF game and take the game seriously. His delivery just sounds forced and contrived to me. Of course, Booger McFarland playing the counterpart doesn't help, either.
Conversely, when I watch NBC's coverage of Sunday night football, the game immediately seems more credible to me. Maybe it's just because I grew up listening to Al Michaels call Monday Night Football, but I swear it's like watching a completely different product in my opinion. I've always enjoyed college football more than the NFL, but ESPN has completely killed Monday Night Football as far as I'm concerned.
