Half-baked realignment
Current CFB issues:
-athlete compensation in relation to revenue
-cheatin’
-sustained imbalance between CFB royalty and others
Half-baked solution:
-create 16 team Royal classification made up of two 8 team divisions
-Royal school must pay players a TBD amount, athletes can earn extra $ anyway they want to, no transfer restrictions
-Set amount of money must be shuffled to an academic pot
-6 team playoff: 2 division winners get byes, 3 at-large, NCAA D1 champ
-NCAA keeps same rules, conferences largely remain the same, champ determined by old BCS system
-Royal school must schedule two 1-for-1s with NCAA schools per year
-Basketball can do a similar model (with different schools in Royal) or largely remain the same and Royal East and Royal West as two additional conferences
-RELEGATION! The NCAA champ has option to bump worst performing Royal. Some schools may elect to permanently remain in NCAA. Schools promoted to Royal will get benefit of Royal transfers and possibly another incentive to be able to compete.
-Donor giving. You now have a clear goal. Got to pay to play either to stay Royal, get to Royal, or be an NCAA powerhouse.
Forgive me. I have a 90 minute commute and iPhone Notes.
