For the record, I don't have any issue with your opinion. In fact, I may even agree with it at some level. I am just trying to get a better understanding of it for the sake of the discussion.

At least it seems to me that you may be believe VT should target the Top 15 VA recruits most/every year and (being a key word here) win majority of those recruiting battle. Hence why I brought up the potential relevance of where the VA recruits rank compare to recruits from the other states. It is a fascinating discussion and I don't think there is a "right" or "wrong" answer here because it boils down to personal preferences. So I am always curious to know (and better understand) a person's logic when he/she prefers that VT focus more on a 3-star VA DE (national ranking #1195) over a 3-star TN DE (national ranking #796) because the VA recruit happens to be a Top 15 VA recruit.
