Well, don't we need that?
I have been watching viewership, traveling fans and the explosive growth of tarp covered seats over the last decade or so. College football needs a jolt in fan participation. If it has to come with the opening round teams being home field advantages, I am OK with that. It would add a lot of impact to those 'wins' at the last 2 or 3 games of the season and especially the conference championship game because the P5 schools are playing to be one of the FOUR home fields for the opening round. Everyone is going to be going for style points in those games trying to impress the voters and not be the 5th P5 team. That makes those often ho-hum conference championship games more exciting and could see them better attended. Sponsors of those games are going to like it because of the buzz around that set up. I like the concept.
