All the speculation about this motive or that motive is silly. Fuente wants to win. He's a competitor. He wants to be successful. He's not hiring someone to keep the "oh-so-powerful" donors at bay. He's hiring the best available guy that checks the boxes we need to check.

This isn't Richard III or a soap opera. People can agree or disagree with the choices and that's fine -- we'll find out in the years to come.

But it's laughable that people think they have a window into the soul of the decision-makers. Since we don't, may just go with the most obvious explanation. Fuente wants to hire the best coaches he can that gives VT the best opportunity to win. Period.
