has gained the respect or close to gaining the respect that was given to Boise State and even Fresno State at one time. Don't get me wrong App State has always had a good/great football program even when it was a member of the DI-FCS. As far as whether App State and even Georgia Southern will ever gain respect from the national media, I do think it is possible 1 or both could end up becoming another "Boise State" or they could end up with a similar fate as Troy.

Troy was a pretty good football program in the DI-FCS and decided to make the switch to the DI-FBS. In the beginning, Troy looked like it might be on the same path as Boise State. The Trojans were even pulling upsets here and there on national TV. Then something happened and Troy lost all of its steam. Now I think a lot of the national media view Troy as "just another Sun Belt team."
