I have thoughts on this subject (inside)

I have worked in the housing industry for over 15 years. 13 or more years ago, our cable partner started upgrading things and people started saying "cable is going away" and "cable won't be here in 10 years." I've taken a wait and see approach but I don't think I remember a time when I truly thought cable was truly in jeopardy. For all the good things streaming provides, there are a few things it cannot match cable on:
1. Buffering, picture quality: when streaming is on, it's on and even on our older non-upgraded TV's you can tell the difference. The problem is there are very few times when it's completely on. Most of the time there are so many people using it that the bandwidth slows to a crawl and it's like watching TV from the 80's when I was a kid. The fix for that is to upgrade to the fastest internet our provider offers but hey, guess what; that would have us paying about as much as if we added cable back (we dropped it due to budget - not due to dissatisfaction). When we had cable, I never had to wonder how many people were also watching cable.
2. Too many options: I feel like when picking a streaming service I'm standing in the cereal aisle at the grocery store. With cable, I basically have 1 maybe 2 choices. Much easier.
3. I can bundle my cable and internet together. I don't have to worry about this drafting out on this day and that drafting out on that day. It's all at once and usually gives a better deal.

There will be people that reply to this and slam me I'm sure stating streaming and internet based services are the best and the future and I am archaic, old school, and I want kids to get off my lawn. My 2 responses to that are: 1. I don't care what you think and 2. yes I am all of those things and more.

Rant over.
