Historically, the NCAA seeds track the RPI very closely, but not exactly. We are 6th in RPI at the moment (could still drop depending on results of conference tournament games). Getting a top 8 seed would be massive as the top 8 seeds will get a second home game in the Sweet 16 (assuming those teams win their first game, obviously).
Of course, it all seemed to break correctly for us last year with JMU knocking out #5 UNC, so we got the second home game (and, if I recall correctly JMU had their top scorer suspended), but we laid an egg and lost 3-0 at home .
