arrogance is the word I would choose. I believe the model as it now exists is no longer efficient or necessarily fair given the huge amounts of money involved and in some respects a minor league model would be better. I think there is a certain number of players undercompensated for the value they bring to the enterprise, however, there is a significantly larger number of players that are fairly or overcompensated when the full value of a scholarship and benefits are considered. I think there is a certain degree of greed involved on the part of some people but, the larger issue, at least in my opinion, is the solution is much more complex and nuanced than just compensating players.
