Too early to tell...

It wasnt as though he was beting his man either off the dribble or losing him through screens, he just made open shots (and some not open ones). He left a lot to be desired in his playmaking ability with the 5 turnovers, but thats not to say he cant do it, it is just game 1.

At the end of the day he isnt tall enough to be a 4 at the next level, and doesnt defend well enough to be a 3-and-D wing. So he will either need to become a better playmaker or better defender.

The sad news is that the NCAA (or himself, depending on who you believe) is to blame for his professional development. If he stays at VT for 2 years it would likely take to fix some of his issues, he would be getting tlinto that age where it would be tough to spend a 1st round pick on him because age-wise he would be a Junior, and a Junior's chances go down significantly of being drafted in round 1, the only way to get a guaranteed contract. I think he could possibly wind up in the NBA at some point, but he may have to go the two-way contract route and play his way onto a roster.
