I haven't heard anything. VCU has "considered" adding football since...

ODU and UNC-Charlotte have quickly moved up to the FBS level. There's nothing in the works but there is support at VCU for a football program. Even Longwood has thought about it recently even though they said football isn't in their 10-year plan. Longwood would have to have at least 10,000 students before adding a football team. LU said that it would cost them a minimum of $3-4 million a year just to play at the FCS level. That cost doesn't include a football stadium or facilities. Longwood only has 5,200 students, so it looks like football won't be a possibility for another 10-20 years. VCU has over 35,000 students, so they are more likely to consider football in the near future. VCU has been building more dorms so their campus so it doesn't feel like a commuter school. Having a football program would probably make it feel more like a non-commuter university. I think VCU would have a football program before GMU.
