@wasris I think is referring to the NYC 2016 championship where Sully suffered a pretty serious rib cage injury and then gutted out an incredible run to AA. One of three epic VT performances the others being Epp's conso run and of course Mekhi's.

After that Sully was never quite the same. Not sure, but perhaps that injury never truly healed. Otherwise wasris is referencing another injury that I don't recall hearing about. I always thought he had to drop too much weight in 2017 and then the fire simply burnt out...kind of like it did for Epp's senior year. Completely understandable considering the brutality and demands of the sport IMO are greater than any other at the collegiate level.
