No - hire a guy who has proven ability to build a team - read this one guys
Fu has not done anything in his career other than being lucky to get a pro-caliber QB at Memphis. Go after a guy who has proven he can build a winner and pay the big bucks to a REAL potential winner rather than to a recent success at a low level school. Your obvious comeback is that Beamer came from a similar small school but things were very much different when he was hired, and he was also a home-grown hero, and he built a program that was scary to other teams. AND, Bud might not be so eager to retire if he was given the reins of the program - he's the next thing to being a home-grown hero, so don't dismiss his future if that should happen. And Bud put this team on the map for being a defensive giant feared by most, until recent years. The fans would love it, Bud would love it, college football would love it. It's almost Frank Beamer redux. [Post edited by akaHokie at 10/01/2019 5:50PM]
