How the farm got named Richlands

My Dad graduated from VPI in 1949. He had 2 older brothers and he assumed one of them would take over the family farm, so when he graduated he took a job in Richlands, Va. Both of his brothers bought their own farms thought so my grandpa asked Dad didn’t he want to take over the tobacco farm. My Dad decided to move back home, named the farm Richlands, continued to tobacco farm but also started a Dairy in 1954, thus the name Richlands Dairy for the farm and Richlands Creamery for the milk processing facility.
