I also use YouTube TV with an Apple TV.

What gen Apple TV do you have? Do you have a dual band router?

I have had similar issues with both YouTubeTV and PlayStation Vue using a new 4K Apple TV and then a new Roku.I reached the conclusion that my issue was my router despite having 100/100 FIOS internet which was verified by my tests.

I was using the 2.4Ghz band for everything in the house. I did some Google research and found a suggestion of using
my 5 GHz band strictly for the Apple TV and ALL other devices on the 2.4Ghz band. This has worked like a charm.

Just remember that the 5ghz band has less range than 2.4 does.

If this doesn’t work for you, you could also try hard-wiring your modem to the Apple TV thru the Ethernet ports. This did not help me however. Still think I have a modem issue somewhere.

p.s. note that live tv is much more challenging to stream cleanly than on-demand video. Takes greater resources on both the services end and the user’s end.
