the PAC 12 looking for excuses to explain the poor performance of its conference and its network. East Coast teams play lots of games at 7:00 pm or later and return to campus in the wee hours of Sunday mornings which is no different time wise than what the PAC12 confronts absent the fact that 3/4 of the country is asleep during that Pacific time zone frame. Real impact is when East or West coast teams go between time zones in a given week and it is why all coaches hate that deal. Virginia can speak to it explicitly with some of the crap foisted on that program by its useless former associate AD Jon Oliver The PAC12's problems start and reside largely with egghead Presidents that were asleep at the wheel and were sold a bill of goods by a Commissioner that was out of his league and lacked depth of ability when it came to forming a network venture. They are approaching a decade in on the venture and the network has 17MM subscribers which trails by far the SEC, the Big 10 and the just out of the gate ACC. The leadership of the PAC12 is the real problem and for exhibit 1 people need look no further than the two LA schools(USC and UCLA). In terms of resources and advantages those two schools are the mother lode and the leadership at both more resembles Laurel and Hardy than anything approaching competence. USC recently doubled down hiring Carol Folt. The LA writers view her as a savior and leader while most knowledgeable people view her record(Dartmouth and UNC primarily) as more of a mouthpiece for behind the scenes powerbrokers than any critical ability to lead.
