Good observations!

One thing we need not overlook is the fact these guys do not quit! They are living through some adversity in their games, and coming through tougher for it.

One thing that may have kept our big play offense off-balance is our line. It hasn't quite gelled yet, and that might be in the back of RW's mind.

Our defense is miles ahead of last year at this time. I'm amazed that any VT fan hasn't seen that. We aren't back to being one of the great VT defenses from our "glory" days, but we're on the way back. The key for our guys is to learn from their mistakes every week, so hopefully they won't be repeated. Our guys are still young, growing, and getting better every game. It's amazing what they can accomplish when everyone pulls together.

Also having seen ACC teams play great one week, then struggle the next, you never know what will happen on a given Saturday (if you're not playing Clemson). Miami looked really good against UF, then lost @UNC the following week. UNC looked really good two weeks in a row, but WF beat them the next game. UVA has been the most consistent team in the Coastal, but they aren't exactly overloaded with talent. You never know if a team like GT will knock them off on a given week. It's the way of the Coastal...lol
