Something about watching football played at the LA Coliseum is nostalgic

I'm not an NFL fan anymore, but I have to admit that I'm kind of enjoying watching the Rams and Saints game, and I think I'm realizing it's partly because it has somewhat of an old-school feel to it. The stadium is a no-frills bowl, there are no insanely large video screens, and the cameras are close to the action. Professional football has become such a production contested in mega stadiums these days that it's kind of refreshing to watch a game in a nostalgic setting. It reminds me of watching as a kid, when I really enjoyed the NFL...and back when the referees weren't such a huge part of the game.
