What a man says and what a man does
>>>He said our fans are so much a part of the team and we support the team and really get into the games.
His regime has clamped down tremendously on fan "emotional involvement" with the coaches and players. Fail to see how the press or anyone else lets him get by with saying such obviously contradictory things (what he says versus what he does).
With that said I do believe he is a good man, like Beamer, like Bud. Just not emotionally available. I would guess there are a ton of good stories of him doing the right thing but not getting credit for it. As long as the stereotype of him not being a players coach and second father to these kids persists (rule following automaton), I'll argue this was too big a change from Beams for the old Hokie fans to take. Wins losses be damned.
