Only problem is they wont get the votes...
Texas controls the voting block of In-state Texas schools but there are not enough votes in that pool to bring anyone in alone. Those schools outside of Texas will not let Texas grow its effective power base, so no new schools inside in Texas. Stalemate.
There is almost not desire to add any team. The conference is very well off financially it is right in the mix with the Big-Ten and SEC in total payouts from all sources. The ten members like that set up. No one is talking about leaving in a few years and so far all of the preliminary talks have indicated that the new TV deal will be at least as good as the current one and in all likelihood, better. No reason to bring anyone in.
