I'm pretty sure that Junior year is when I took my official visits


and narrowed down my choices. That way you have time to make sure you have enough school or extra stuff to meet the admission requirements. And submitting applications happens in the fall of the Senior year. So there really isn't a ton of time to shop around once the kids become Juniors unless you know that kid has already narrowed down their choices to just a few options.

That said, I agry with below that it is worth it to take a day off of school to see a campus on a normal day. Good luck.
