Pellets depend on the temp you are trying to maintain and outside temps.


You can certainly do a brisket or pork butt on a bag of pellets. I never tried to do one with a gas grill.
They have pros and cons but after I got a pellet grill, I stopped using my big Weber summit. Probably fit my style of cooking a bit better with low and slow vs cooking on a hot fire all the time. I also like the flavors of wood cooking better.
If you're thinking pellet grills, look into the rectec's. Their computer algorithms seem to have much better temperature control than traegers and their customer service is top notch.
