Weather in DC was beautiful - I was there for a work meeting


I was sitting in the Commerce Dept. building, people coming in and out whispering to the guy leading the meeting. Eventually found out the Pentagon had been hit (just across the street from where my grandfather is buried) and looked out the window and could see the smoke. Then there was a rumor the Capitol had been hit and everyone went nuts - ran out onto 14th St and it was a madhouse. Ended up walking across the Memorial Bridge to Rosslyn because I was convinced they were going to hit the Metro next. Had a clear view of the Pentagon the whole way across. Eventually made it back to Manassas - several kids at the elementary school mine attended lost parents or grandparents that day.
