I agree that Texas offers a host of problems

Heck I am not even on board with the idea. However, I do think the ACC would seriously consider it especially if ESPN agreed to increase its payout closer to Big Ten or SEC numbers. Plus, ESPN could rebrand the LHN as a subchannel to the ACCN with Texas retaining control.

I do think you will see schools leave the Big XII and join other power conferences when the Big XII current contract expires. If the Big Ten is willing to add Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and someone else, then Texas may be willing to abandon the LHN especially if ESPN is planning to reduce the payout on the next contract. At the very least it would put ESPN in an interesting position to see how much of a fight they are willing to put up vs. allowing Texas to join Fox. If the Pac-12 is not willing to play ball with ESPN, then the ACC may be the only card ESPN could play at that point.
