I do not believe Texas offers...

the same thing as Notre Dame and they also bring a host of other concerns. Texas is not remotely close to ND in terms of national reach and relevance with their football program and outside of catching lightning in a bottle with Vince Young has not been all that relevant since the days of Darrell Royal. They need a conference for football. They also need to control that conference and outside of the Big 12 and maybe PAC 12 none of the other conferences would entertain that problem. The next problem is what to do with the LHN. With the SEC or ACC they at least have a common partner in ESPN but, the Big 10 is never going that way. I could see larry Scott looking to fold the white elephant of his PAC 12 network in to the LHN and ESPN being receptive to that but, again, the sticking point is Texas control.
